8.不定冠词与单数名词连用可以表示类别,翻译成汉语时一般不出现“一”字。例:

    6.direct 和 directly:
    direct 作副词是“直线地(in a straight line）”或“不停地”(without stopping or turning aside）:
The next flight doesn't go direct to Beijing， it goes by way of Shanghai. 下一航班不直接飞北京,它绕道上海

    有些副词有两种形式:一是与形容词同形,二是在形容词之后加ly 。这两种形式,有些意义不同,有些是搭配不同,有些是习惯问题。
    1. clean 和cleanly:
  clean是“完全地、彻底地”(completely)。例:
    I clean forgot it.  我全忘了。

    代词在句子中应在人称、数、性方面保持一致,也指与它所照应的名词保持一致。例:
    The women in the committee expressed their opinions at the con-ference.委员会里的妇女在会议上表达了她们的观点。

    11.high 和 highly
    high表示空间高度(to or at a high level in position ),也指“声音高”(sound)。例:
