43．feel（felt；felt）vt．＆vi．①＝touch；learn about by touching； give the impression of being，意为“触摸；感知；摸起来有……的感觉”。例如：The doctor felt my pulse．医生摸我的脉。The stone feels cold．这石头摸起来挺凉的。He felt the coat to see if it was wet．他摸了一下衣服看看是否湿了。②＝know（not through contact并非由触摸而感觉到）；know through the sense，意为“感到；觉得；感觉”。例如：I felt the branch touch my face．我感到树枝碰着了我的脸。I'm feeling much better today．Thank you．谢谢你的关心，今天我觉得好多了。feel cold（hot，hungry，happy，worried，tired，lonely）感到冷（热，饥饿，幸福，担心，疲劳，孤独）。③有“认为，想”之意，如：I feel that she will come soon．我认为她马上会来。I feel that we shall win．我认为我们将获胜。
feel表示“感觉”时，不能用进行时：I can feel something bitingme．我感到什么东西在咬我。feel表示“摸”时可用进行时：I'm feeling the shirt to see if it is dry yet．我在摸衬衣看它是否干了。
44．finish vt．＆vi．＝bring or come to an end；complete；stop，意为“结束；完成；终止，停止”。例如：I must finish my homework first．我首先必须完成我的作业。Have you finished middle school．你中学毕业了吗？I haven't finished reading that book yet．我还没有读完那本书呢。The party has not finished yet．宴会还没有结束呢。What time does the concert finish？音乐会何时结束？
主语和谓语之间插入介词but，between，except，like，with等引导的介词短语，谓语动词要与这些短语前的主语一致。
在finish后不能接不定式做宾语而要接动名词。如：Have you finished（doing）your homework？你做完家庭作业了吗？
45．free adj．①＝able to do what one wants to；not doing anything； not busy；not being used，意为“空闲的，空余的；自由的”。例如：We are free to do as we like during the holiday．在假期我们可以想做什么就做什么。Are you free tomorrow night？你明晚有空吗？I'll be free this evening．今天晚上我有空。②＝Without payment，意为“免费的；免税的”。例如：a free ticket免费票。free education免费教育。This is a free school．这是一所免费学校。
