In the first place, it’s vital that people should be conscious of the seriousness of the situation. Moreover, strict laws must be made to prohibit companies and individuals from destroying the earth or polluting the environment. Most urgently, human beings must put science and technology to better use to protect the earth. Only then can it be possible that human beings will have a bright and colorful future.

Global Awareness of Grain Shortage

Nowadays the whole world shows GREat concern over global grain shortage. It is reported that in recent years the total grain output all over the world has been reducing, which brings about the decrease of grain in stock. This phenomenon is by far the most serious in developing countries where many people are still subject to starvation.

The reasons leading to such a situation are various. First of all, the population explosion plays a main role. The more overcrowded the earth becomes, the less share of grain each man can get on average. In the second place, it is since the Industrial Revolution that large pieces of cultivated land have been occupied by buildings and factories. What’s more, such natural disasters as flood, drought as well as hurricane can also result in the crop failure. Health Improvement In Developing Countries

From the above chart, we can draw the conclusion that in the past three decades developing countries have made much proGREss in the domain of public health. Great emphasis has been laid on the quality of people’s living conditions.

The chart conveys that people in developing countries are expected to live longer now than before, for the average life expectancy in 1960 was about 40 years while that reached about 60 years by 1990. Meanwhile, in deve-loping countries the rate of infant mortality in 1960 was twice as high as that in 1990. In other words, the rate of infant mortality has declined in the past three decades.

It is evident that many factors contribute to these changes. As the economy improves, it is probable that the people in the developing countries have better living conditions. Moreover, much attention has been paid to people’s diet. Some traditional foods have given way to high-nutrition foods. Also, good medical technology makes it possible for both the aged and the newly-born to have better medical care either at home or in hospital. With the further development of human beings’ living standards, a lower rate of infant mortality can surely be expected in the coming years, as can a much longer life expectancy.
