Mymain reason is that I love traditional design. Itsgraceful andwarm and inviting. I think modern design is very emptyand sterileand not very inviting. So, because of the way it looks,Id choose atraditional house.I recognize the fact that a modernapartment isgoing to be in much better shape. Being new probablymeans all theplumbing works, the roof isnt going to leak, thewindows areproperly sealed, and the kitchen appliances are inworking order. Atraditional house cant guarantee any of that. Infact, its likelythat things will break down or need replacement,simply because ofage.Still, if the appliances are old, so is thewood, and thats abig advantage as far as Im concerned. Very fewnew buildings havethe kind of beautiful woods that were used yearsago. Its somethingthat cant be copied.Space is always importantto me, too. I need alot of room for my home office, my clothes,and to display all theknickknacks Ive picked up in my travels. Ialso like to haveinteresting space. I dont want all the rooms andwindows the samesize or a boxy design. A modern apartment usuallycomes in one sizeand shape. A traditional house is going to have avariety of spaceswhere I can put a little table or a window seat.And it will havelots of room, from basement to attic. These areallgood reasons forme to prefer living in a traditional house.Somepeople love moderndesign, but its not for me.
