South Korea says it is withdrawing its ambassador to Japan. South Korea is protesting a recently approved Japanese history book for schools that it says does not deal honestly with the action of Japan during World War II. A South Korea Foreign Ministry official said the ambassador is to return to Seoul for meeting about how South Korea should deal with the textbook issue. The official said the withdrawal of the ambassador was temporary.
