Today，my classmates and I went out for a walk after supper．The moon is so well that we were very happy．On the way，we met several foreigners．We said politely to them，“Good night．”They smiled，and said to us，“Good evening．”We were very surprised．
On the way back to school，we all didn't know why they said“Good evening”，but didn't say“Good night”． After we arrived at the school，we went to ask our English teacher．The teacher told us the reason．We now know that they only say“Good night”before sleeping．
【评析】
1．第一段第1句：Today改为 This evening更为确切。
2．第一段第2句：well只有在表示“（身体）好的；良好的；恰当的等”时才用作形容词，其它情况用作副词。这里可改为bright或beautiful等。
3．第一段第3句：On the way一般指“在去某处的路上”，way本义为“路线”。这里说的是散步，On the way用在此处不恰当，所以最好改为As we were walking。
4．第一段第5句：smile意为“（愉快、满意地）微笑”。这里自己与外宾一见面就道“晚安”，外宾一开始肯定会发愣，继而明白过来后就会觉得非常好笑。用表示开心地笑出声来的laugh更为贴切。在此之前补上They were first surprisedandthen．．．这一内容能更好一些。
5．第二段第1句：didn't know并不只是发生在回校的路上。在此之前也是这样，所以用didn't know不够确切。可改为thought over the foreigners'words but no one knew／could tell。
6．第二段第1句：butdidn'tsay改为instead ofsaying更为确切，表示二者的替换关系。
7．第二段第3句：The teacher改为He较好。
8．第二段第4句：sleeping改为going to bed较好。
