7.experience n.&& v.

①作“经验”解一般用作不可数名词。例如:

Fortunately they had a lot of experience.

Employers usually prefer to hire someone who has some work ex-perience.

②指具体意义的某种经验时可用作可数名词。例如:

He did experiments and learnt from the experiences of farmers.

This is a very useful experience we can still use today.

③作“经历”、“经过的事”解是可数名词。例如:

I told the company about my experiences.

④experience(vt.)的过去分词experienced可作表语和定语。例如:

He is experienced in writing stories.

She is an experienced teacher.

experienced作表语时,其后介词习惯用in,也可用at。例如:

He's very experienced in repairing cars.

They became experienced at finding underground springs.

8.separate

①adj.单独的;分离的;个别的

Cut the watermelon into six separate parts.

The twins live in separate rooms.

②vt.使……分开;隔离(常与from连用)

England is separated from France by the English Channel.
